Cyanotype is one the first photographic printing processus in the story of photography.
Its distinctive cyan stade results from the exposition to ultraviolet light. The process was invente by John Herschel in 1842. However, Anna Atkins , a british botanist and photographer was the first first to use the cyanotype to create a photographic album of algae specimens in 1843.
The process can be used with dry plants, découpages or negatives as on this post.
It is being rediscoverd as an interesting artistic médium after a long period of decline.

My terrace neigbour told me : "here you'll find interesting types to photograph, as everywhere between Nice and Marseille". After almost 6 month of lockdown and diverse curfews the Riquier area in Nice seems to be blooming again. Diverse types of people indeed and the large beach parasol protection somewhath from the traffic make it all!
