Disappearing world

In the first part of the 20th century the “halles de la buffa” used to be a very vivid focal point of the buffa district in Nice. At the beginning of the 21th century this covered market was ment to become part of a bigger, ambitious building project. This project would include social housing, senior housings, residential ones as well as the covered market around a beautiful Art déco building.
Notwithstanding a building permit granted in 2012, the project has never been realised as the backer of the project declared bankrupt. The building permit was declared invalid
in February 2018. In the meanwhile, the salesmen were more and more insecure about their future and the athmosphere is becoming more and more ghostly, even if the survivors still offer high quality food.
